Oaxacan Old-Fashioned

With just enough smoke and sweetness, this cocktail is the perfect intro for first-timers and mezcal aficionados alike.

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 4 dashes King Ramsey’s Tangerine Bitters* (substitute Regan’s
  • Orange Bitters No. 6 or Angostura Orange Bitters)
  • 2 fresh large strawberries (1 for garnish)
  • 1½ ounces El Buho Mezcal

Instructions

In a sturdy rocks glass, muddle brown sugar, bitters and 1 strawberry. Add ice and mezcal and stir for 10 seconds. Garnish with a fresh strawberry. Makes 1 drink.
